Lyrics 2012 ~ Fire In My Shoes

Fire In My Shoes
(written by Saskia Boree)

There's a little piece inside of me
Which is squishy and rotten out
Crawling veins are playing hide-and-seek
Ripped by slaughter, but not getting weak
Shifted by mirrors to make me see
A mysterious old story, now it seems....

CHORUS
Smouldering coal licks my dream away
The horizon gradient black and grey
Sharpened grit on dark ground rubbed my gown
While throught the blink of my lashes
Set my whole world to ashes
Here's everything burned down
With popping blisters around my toes
Fought I against all the fire in my shoes
I'm still... with fire in my shoes

There's a rosebud teared in me
Which is punctured by black thorns
Swarming veins reaching the other side
Impeded by pale fingers, a place to hide
Holding up the mirror to make me see
Seems it's all still my mystery, and again...
(chorus)

Could not pierce through the pain
Everything's stuck and goes not further
Could not make it through the rain

Forced blister around my toes
It's all wrong, but it's how it goes
I'm still with fire in my shoes
Could not conquer the fire in my shoes
There's a fire in my shoes...
